Recycled rare earths and critical minerals

Cyclic Materials produces recycled rare earth oxides and critical minerals from end-of-life products through urban mining, returning them to the manufacturing supply chain.

What are rare earths?

Rare earth elements are essential components of high-performance permanent magnets used in data canters' hard disk drives, automotive components, robotics, consumer electronics, medical equipment, and energy infrastructure.

Through its commercial-scale recycling process, Cyclic Materials provides a circular source of rare earths and critical minerals that complements traditional mining and helps strengthen advanced manufacturing supply chains.

Neodymium and Praseodymium

Neodymium (Nd) and praseodymium (Pr) are light rare earth elements commonly produced and used together in high-performance neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) permanent magnets. These magnets are used in hard disk drives, automotive components, defense technologies, electronics, and medical devices.

NdFeB magnets are the strongest type of commercially available magnets.

Terbium

Terbium (Tb) is a heavy rare earth element used in permanent magnets to improve their performance at elevated temperatures. It is used in advanced automotive, energy infrastructure, and defense applications.

Dysprosium

Dysprosium (Dy) is a heavy rare earth element used primarily in permanent magnets to improve their resistance to demagnetization at elevated temperatures. These magnets are essential to hard disk drives, automotive components, defense technologies, and energy infrastructure applicaations.

Other critical minerals

Cyclic Materials also recovers copper, aluminum, and clean ferrous materials from the end-of-life products. these materials are ready for reintegration to the supply chain, maximizing resource recovery and reducing waste.

Copper

A key conductor of electricity and heat, recycled copper is recovered from e-ware, power cables, and industrial equipment. It plays a vital role in renewable energy infrastructure, electrical wiring, and high-tech manufacturing.

Aluminum

Sourced from end-of-life components, recycled aluminum retains the same strength and durability as newly mined aluminum while drastically reducing energy consumption in production. This lightweight, corrosion-resistant metal is used in automotive manufacturing, aerospace applications, and industrial machinery.

Clean ferrous materials

These iron-based materials, separated from mixed-metal feedstock, are essential in construction, transportation, and heavy industry. By processing and reintegrating ferrous materials into steel production, we reduce reliance on virgin iron ore extraction.
