Position Overview

The Vice President of Business Development (Feedstock Purchasing) is responsible for leading and managing the strategic partnership and procurement team, overseeing the procurement of feedstock, developing and executing strategic plans, managing client relationships, and monitoring performance. This role is critical in driving cost-effective sourcing, ensuring high-quality procurement practices, and enhancing the company’s market presence through strategic initiatives.

What you will be doing

Leadership and Team Management:
  • Lead and manage the procurement team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Hire, train, and develop team members, ensuring the alignment of skills and capabilities with organizational needs.
  • Promote team building and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and engagement.
Feedstock Procurement Management:
  • Oversee procurement strategies, ensuring cost-effective sourcing of high-quality products and services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and negotiate favorable terms.
  • Implement procurement processes and systems to streamline operations and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute long-term business plans.
  • Identify market opportunities and trends, leveraging insights to inform procurement strategies.
Client Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with large multinationals and small family-owned businesses.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service and support, addressing client needs and resolving issues promptly.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of procurement initiatives.
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports to the executive team, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.
  • Implement corrective actions and process improvements as needed to achieve targets and objectives.
Supply Chain Management
  • Optimize inventory levels to ensure availability while minimizing holding costs and obsolescence.
  • Oversee the logistics and distribution functions to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products and services.
  • Assess and identify potential supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
  • Leverage integration of technology to improve supply chain visibility, efficiency, and responsiveness. Implement supply chain management software and tools.
  • Integrate sustainability practices into the supply chain to reduce environmental impact and support corporate responsibility goals.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives across the supply chain to improve profitability.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in supply chain management and procurement, with at least 7 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing successful procurement strategies and delivering results.
  • Strong negotiation, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to travel as needed to the US and other countries
